Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
March 20, 2026
Psalm 119:105-112
105 Your word is a lamp before my feet and a light for my journey. 106 I have sworn, and I fully mean it: I will keep your righteous rules. 107 I have been suffering so much LORD, make me live again according to your promise. 108 Please, LORD, accept my spontaneous gifts of praise. Teach me your rules! 109 Though my life is constantly in danger, I won’t forget your Instruction. 110 Though the wicked have set a trap for me, I won’t stray from your precepts. 111 Your laws are my possession forever because they are my heart’s joy. 112 I have decided to keep your statutes forever, every last one.
Good Morning, Happy Spring!
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Our faith journey is filled with joy and sadness, freedom and danger. God blesses us with free will to make choices along our journey. Every choice we make has consequences, good and bad, that affect what happens next.
Some of our choices can be driven by earthly desires, and we fall into the traps of evil. At first, it seems as if we made a great choice, and then we start to see signs that we chose poorly. By God’s grace, we can rely upon the light of Christ to lead us back to our righteous path.
When we are afraid or don’t know the way to turn, God’s Word is available to provide us with guidance. Even in our moments of darkness and despair, the light of Christ shines to guide us home.
God of Wisdom, you bless us abundantly! We get lost along our faith journey. So many distractions tug on us and we wander off. Thank you for always being there to help us find our way. We love you. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
Thought for the day: God’s word is our light, helping to guide the way.
Do not forget that Christ is available to all who seek him! Pastor Liz
