Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
May 26, 2023
Romans 8:31-39
31 So what are we going to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He didn’t spare his own Son but gave him up for us all. Won’t he also freely give us all things with him? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect people? It is God who acquits them. 34 Who is going to convict them? It is Christ Jesus who died, even more, who was raised, and who also is at God’s right side. It is Christ Jesus who also pleads our case for us. 35 Who will separate us from Christ’s love? Will we be separated by trouble, or distress, or harassment, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, We are being put to death all day long for your sake. We are treated like sheep for slaughter. 37 But in all these things we win a sweeping victory through the one who loved us. 38 I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not powers 39 or height or depth, or any other thing that is created.
Good Morning; God is with us! Amen!
Truly I tell you, God is with us! No matter what challenges we face, we are not alone. As I sit looking out my window, I see evidence of God surrounding me. God is present with me, from the birds bothering Neon this morning to the flowers, trees, and the almost imperceptible wind slowly fluttering the leaves.
God gave us his only son Jesus, who willingly surrendered his life so we might be free from death. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:16-18
Paul eloquently states 38 I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord. For all who seek God, God is there. Seek and be saved.
Loving God, We thank you for Your blessings. We face many challenges, but we know that you are with us. You cry with us and smile with us. You gave us your son! By your grace, we are saved. Thank You! In the name of Christ, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: Nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Seek God! Pastor Liz
