Morning Devotional 083024
Joshua 1:7-9
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to act in accordance with all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall be successful.
Good Morning, Be thankful for all that god provides.
At some point, most of us must confront someone or something we hoped to forever avoid. This things often follow a difficult experience. For example, if you eat something that doesn’t agree with you, you tend to avoid that food. That’s a simple enough fix.
Some things are not so easily avoided. When Lowell passed away, I found that there were many challenges to be faced that could not simply be avoided. when you lose a loved one, there are many “firsts” that you must confront. For a time, I avoided going to some of our favorite places. My first trip back to the beach was hard, but I felt God calling me there.
As hard as it was, I went. Yes, there were tears, but there were also blessings. I felt God lead me by the hand and show me how to love the beach in a new way. Whatever our struggles, God is with us every step of the way.
When we spend time in prayer and meditation with God, God will show us the way to prosperity filled with love and joy.
Transforming God, Thank you for leading us out of the darkness and into the light. Help us to take time to listen and spend time with you every day. In the name of your son, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: When we rely on God, we receive God’s strength and wisdom!
