Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

September 2, 2023

Psalm 119:65-68

65 Do good to your servant according to your word, Lord. 66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. 67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray,

but now I obey your word. 68 You are good, and what you do is good;

teach me your decrees.

Good Morning. It is a beautiful morning to praise God!

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! I often have questions about how to be more like Christ. I am a child of God but a human full of flaws. Sometimes, our human afflictions get in the way of living a holy life and being the face of Christ for the world.

The good news is that God, our creator, gives us love, grace, and mercy in all things. God knows our imperfections more than we will admit them to ourselves. God accepts us where we are and for what we are. Anyone who admits their sin and spends time reading the Word and praying to God will find the peace that comes from God. In God’s time, we will learn to humble ourselves fully and obey the words placed on our hearts.

Loving God, We make mistakes but are trying to do what you ask of us. Help us accept your love and share it freely with everyone we meet. We love you! Thank you! In the name of Christ, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: I will remember to go to God when I need guidance.

God loves us! Pastor Liz
