Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

November 2, 2025

Romans 8:26-28

26 In the same way, the Spirit comes to help our weakness. We don’t know what we should pray, but the Spirit himself pleads our case with unexpressed groans. 27 The one who searches hearts knows how the Spirit thinks, because he pleads for the saints, consistent with God’s will. 28 We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Good Morning! It is a beautiful Lord’s Day!

God calls us out to be heirs to the kingdom! We are weak when standing on our own, but Jesus called the Spirit to be with us to guide our steps.

Our lives are full of challenges. We will have good days and bad days, but by God’s grace, we will overcome the hardships that we encounter. This is where the Spirit comes into our story. In our darkest moments, when we feel unable to call out to God, the Spirit calls for us.

I recently saw a quote on a bracelet, “Don’t let the hard days win!” Although life has both good and bad moments, we should not let the negative ones overcome us. It can be hard, but when we begin to slip into darkness, we must turn around and find the light. Jesus is always available to those who seek him.

28 We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Loving Lord, you bless us abundantly! Life is hard, but we thank you for sending the Spirit to be with us always. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: On our hardest days, God’s presence can bring us comfort and peace.

Let go of the bad, and focus on the Good! Pastor Liz
