Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
January 29, 2026
Psalm 16:1-7
1 Protect me, God, because I take refuge in you. 2 I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord. Apart from you, I have nothing good.” 3 Now as for the “holy ones” in the land, the “magnificent ones” that I was so happy about; 4 let their suffering increase because they hurried after a different god. I won’t participate in their blood offerings; I won’t let their names cross my lips. 5 You, LORD, are my portion, my cup; you control my destiny. 6 The property lines have fallen beautifully for me; yes, I have a lovely home. 7 I will bless the LORD who advises me; even at night I am instructed in the depths of my mind.
Good Morning! O God, you are my God!
God blesses us with all we need. In return, we are to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. We are to share our blessings of abundance with all who are in need, and we are to share in fellowship with one another to worship and praise God.
In this time of violence and injustice, we need to plant the seeds of love so that we can create a culture of kindness through which every person is valued and treated with dignity. Let us pray for peace each morning and put God’s love in action among our neighbors. God’s love and grace will prevail.
Redeeming Lord, you bless us abundantly! We love you Lord. Help us put our full measure of faith to work in your Holy Name. Thank you. We love you. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
Thought for the day: Begin each day praising God!
God is Love! Pastor Liz
