Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
February 2, 2026
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 He said to me, “My grace is enough for you, because power is made perfect in weakness.” So I’ll gladly spend my time bragging about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power can rest on me. 10 Therefore, I’m all right with weaknesses, insults, disasters, harassments, and stressful situations for the sake of Christ, because when I’m weak, then I’m strong.
Good Morning! Give thanks for God’s marvelous grace!
God’s grace is sufficient! What does that mean?
Sufficient grace signifies a boundless supply that far exceeds any challenge, providing sustaining strength, peace, and contentment. God’s grace is a gift that we cannot earn; it requires that we accept it in faith.
Most of us do not like to boast of our weaknesses as Paul suggests. We would rather people see our strengths, while we keep our weaknesses hidden. God's strength shines brightest when we are at our weakest, proving His ability, not ours, to overcome difficulties.
Because we know of our weaknesses, even when we bury them deep within ourselves, God’s grace provides hope. Despite, or maybe because of our weaknesses, God will see us through whatever challenges we may face.
More Good News: This sustaining grace isn't just for big crises but is available moment-by-moment for daily challenges, teaching contentment in any circumstance.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray continuously, and give thanks in all things. Our God is awesome!
Redeeming Lord, you bless us abundantly! We don’t always see it, but you are always with us, directing us, and providing for us. Thank you. We love you. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
Thought for the day: By God’s grace, we have hope for each day!
God’s grace is sufficient! Pastor Liz
