Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
April 22, 2025
Psalm 104:24-31
24 LORD, you have done so many things! You made them all so wisely! The earth is full of your creations! 25 And then there’s the sea, wide and deep, with its countless creatures living things both small and large. 26 There go the ships on it, and Leviathan, which you made, plays in it! 27 All your creations wait for you to give them their food on time. 28 When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled completely full! 29 But when you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to dust. 30 When you let loose your breath, they are created, and you make the surface of the ground brand-new again. 31 Let the LORD’s glory last forever! Let the LORD rejoice in all he has made!
Good Morning. All things bright and beautiful, the Lord God made them all.
Whenever I feel lonely or sad, my best remedy is to go outside and spend time in nature. Even a simple walk around my yard offers beautiful reminders of God’s magnificent glory. I love spring with all its signs of new life, but God reveals reminders in each of the seasons.
If we attempted to compile a list of all of God’s handiwork, we would quickly realize that completing the list would take longer than the time we have on this earth. To this day, I am amazed by the intricacy of all God’s creation. God leaves nothing to chance.
The most amazing part of God’s creation is us, God’s children. God blesses each child with unique gifts and talents, and the combinations are endless. When we are all together, the puzzle is complete and filled with beauty and diversity. Unimaginable colors, sounds, and perspectives are present on each piece, no matter how different the shape’s edges may be. The most amazing part is the love that holds together God’s creation and molds us into perfection. And God said, “It is good!”
Loving Lord, Maker of all things! Your creation is amazing. Thank you for including us in your masterpiece. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: Taking time to ponder creation inspires me to praise God.
Worship the majesty of God! Pastor Liz
