Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
June 17, 2025
Psalm 107:1-9
1 “Give thanks to the LORD because he is good, because his faithful love lasts forever!” 2 That’s what those who are redeemed by the LORD say, the ones God redeemed from the power of their enemies, 3 the ones God gathered from various countries, from east and west, north and south. 4 Some of the redeemed had wandered into the desert, into the wasteland. They couldn’t find their way to a city or town. 5 They were hungry and thirsty; their lives were slipping away. 6 So they cried out to the LORD in their distress, and God delivered them from their desperate circumstances. 7 God led them straight to human habitation. 8 Let them thank the LORD for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all people, 9 because God satisfied the one who was parched with thirst, and he filled up the hungry with good things!
Good Morning! Thank the Lord for his faithful love!
All good gifts around us are sent from Heaven above, So thank the Lord, oh thank the Lord for all his love…
God is speaking to me through song today. Today’s music comes from 1971 in the beautiful, peaceful sounds of Godspell. The simplicity of the melody allows the sounds to dance in the space around me.
Throughout the generations, our ancestors have faithfully relied upon God to deliver them when they became lost and weary. In these trying times of 2025, we are lost, weary, and anxious. We must call out to God and ask for deliverance. Only God’s great love can overcome the evil that is trying to take hold of our land.
From our sorrow, God promises great joy. To find God’s peace and joy, we must surrender control and entrust our fears to God.
No gifts have we to offer for all thy love imparts
But that which thou desirest, our humble thankful hearts!
All good gifts around us
Are sent from Heaven above..
So thank the Lord, oh thank the Lord for all his love..
Giving Lord, you bless us abundantly! We struggle to let go, yet you wait patiently for us to do so. The journey to love begins one step along your path. Give us the courage to turn away from the evil and come toward you. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: God abundantly blesses those who surrender themselves.
All Good Gifts Come From Heaven Above! Pastor Liz
