Morning Devotional 062126

Passage selected from today’s Upper Room Verses

Ephesians 3:16-19

16 I ask that he will strengthen you in your inner selves from the riches of his glory through the Spirit. 17 I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strong roots in love, 18 I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers. 19 I ask that you’ll know the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will be filled entirely with the fullness of God.

Good Morning, May Christ live in our hearts through faith.

Our Father in heaven created us in His image. God sets the tone for what a creator and nurturer is. During our time on earth, we grow into ourselves as we grow into our roles as members of God’s family.

Sometimes, we are called to act as a Father, other times as a Mother, and still other times as a sibling. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and through our relationships we learn how to love.

18 I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers.

God’s love is not the superficial love we experience when we practice pretend love to acquire something we want. God’s love is deep and lasting. Sometimes love is hard and hurts when out of love we give of ourselves so that someone else might live. We call that tough love. As we endure the pain of letting someone else struggle, we grow together in faith and strength that mirrors God’s love for us.

God loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die for our sins, so that all who call upon His Holy name may have eternal life. God provides the ultimate, unconditional love to us, His Beloved children.

God of Wind and Flame, you bless us abundantly! Thank you for loving us. Thank you for being by our side when love is hard. Thank you. We love you. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Thought for the day: Above all else, God loves us!

God finds delight in us! Pastor Liz
