Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

November 14, 2025

Lamentations 3:19-26

19 The memory of my suffering and homelessness is bitterness and poison. 20 I can’t help but remember and am depressed. 21 I call all this to mind—therefore, I will wait. 22 Certainly the faithful love of the LORD hasn’t ended; certainly God’s compassion isn’t through! 23 They are renewed every morning. Great is your faithfulness. 24 I think: The LORD is my portion! Therefore, I’ll wait for him. 25 The LORD is good to those who hope in him, to the person who seeks him. 26 It’s good to wait in silence for the LORD’s deliverance.

Good Morning! God blesses us with each day!

Great is thy faithfulness,

Morning by morning, new mercies I see.

All I have needed, thy hand has provided;

Great is thy faithfulness,

Lord unto me.

It is easy to become consumed by our past and current suffering. The weight of each moment of sorrow is often more than we can bear. That is why God promises to be with us and bear the brunt of our burdens.

Jesus came to teach us how to become a fellowship of believers, so that we can support one another. When we or our brothers and sisters in faith are suffering, we need someone to remind us to lay our burdens down and allow God’s peace to fill our souls.

There is great comfort in the presence of those who care in our times of sorrow. Sometimes we need someone to talk to us, other times we just need someone to listen. Then, there are those times we just need someone to share space with us in the silence.

God places others along our journey to be what or who we need in that moment. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Lord, you bless us abundantly! Renew our hope in You when we lose our way. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: God provides just what is needed.
