Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
March 22, 2026
Exodus 3:11-14
11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I to go to Pharaoh and to bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” 12 God said, “I’ll be with you. And this will show you that I’m the one who sent you. After you bring the people out of Egypt, you will come back here and worship God on this mountain.” 13 But Moses said to God, “If I now come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they are going to ask me, ‘What’s this God’s name?’ What am I supposed to say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. So say to the Israelites, ‘I Am has sent me to you.’”
Good Morning, Rejoice for God is near!
Moses was minding his own business, living in obscurity, when God called him to do extraordinary things. Talk about being asked to do something outside your comfort zone. Moses was not a great orator, but God called him to speak on behalf of the Israelites so that they might be freed from captivity.
We do not know what God has planned for our lives. One day, out of the blue, God may call you to do something unexpected. Will you be ready to answer God, “Yes, Lord!” Many are called, but few are chosen.
God often chooses unlikely people to carry out great tasks. It takes great faith to leave behind our ordinary lives and answer God’s call. God promises that those who answer will be cared for and given the skills necessary to follow and accomplish God’s directions.
God of Wisdom, you bless us abundantly! You see greater things for us than we see for ourselves. Thank you for being our provider. We love you. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
Thought for the day: God reveals our plan when the time comes.
Listen! God is speaking! Pastor Liz
