1 John 4:7-12

7 Dear friends, let’s love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. 8 The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how the love of God is revealed to us: God has sent his only Son into the world so that we can live through him. 10 This is love: it is not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son as the sacrifice that deals with our sins. 11 Dear friends, if God loved us this way, we also ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. If we love each other, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us. 

Good Morning! Let’s love one another because love is from God!

God created the world with love. Love: the beginning, middle, and end of our lives. We can love because God first loved us! 

I have a pastor friend who had a parishioner tell him that he preached too much about love. What?!? That’s like asking, What’s love got to do with it? Love is the whole ball of wax. Love is the glue that holds everything together. Without love, we wouldn’t exist. 

Even the greatest skeptics must acknowledge the love revealed by God sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we might have eternal life. No greater love is one who lays down his life to save another. 

To every question, the answer is love! We love Jesus because he first loved us!  

Loving Lord, Maker of all things! You created the greatest love story ever told! Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: God’s love is the greatest gift.
