Proverbs 3:1-6
1 My son, don’t forget my instruction. Let your heart guard my commands, 2 because they will help you live a long time and provide you with well-being. 3 Don’t let loyalty and faithfulness leave you. Bind them on your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Then you will find favor and approval in the eyes of God and humanity. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; don’t rely on your own intelligence. 6 Know him in all your paths, and he will keep your ways straight.
Good Morning. Trust in the Lord with all your heart!
I am reminded that we are called to know God in all our ways and in all our paths. It is easy to come to church and present ourselves to God, but are there times in other settings when we try to hide our words and our actions from God? Admittedly, there are times when we might all be embarrassed to present ourselves to God. These often happen when we rely upon our own intelligence instead of trusting God to lead us.
Maybe we’re having a bad day, or we’re stressed over a big challenge in our lives. As a result, we lash out at someone unexpectedly, and then we feel guilty. I believe that in these moments, we rely upon the teaching and instruction that we guard in our hearts. First, we must make amends to the one we hurt. Then, we humble ourselves before God and admit our sinful ways.
Only by God’s grace can we find the path to righteousness. Along the way, we may trip, fall, and stray from the path, but our God is merciful and forgives us when we come forward and repent.
Awesome God, We love you! We make mistakes when we forget to listen to You. Help us keep your teachings in all our daily interactions so that we might stay on our path to You. Thank you. In the name of Christ, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: By the grace of God, we are saved.
Follow God’s ways! Pastor Liz
