Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room
October 24, 2025
Psalm 121:1-8
1 I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth. 3 God won’t let your foot slip. Your protector won’t fall asleep on the job. 4 No! Israel’s protector never sleeps or rests! 5 The LORD is your protector; the LORD is your shade right beside you. 6 The sun won’t strike you during the day; neither will the moon at night. 7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; God will protect your very life. 8 The LORD will protect you on your journeys whether going or coming from now until forever from now.
Good Morning! Our help comes from the Lord!
As I sit and spend time with God this morning, I marvel at God’s creation. From the mountains to the seas, from the flat open spaces to the narrow valleys, God is with us. Whenever I need a special blessing or moment of comfort, I go out into nature and share time with God.
When we immerse ourselves in God’s handiwork, we enter a liminal space where we are protected and comforted. Through my travels this week, I have been blessed to be with God in the wide-open farmland of Indiana and in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia and Virginia. Each space resonates with God’s glory.
In my lowest moments and in my greatest triumphs, God is with me. My heart sings with joy each morning when I awaken to another day to do God’s work.
Loving Lord, you bless us abundantly! I thank You for the opportunity to share Your love with everyone I meet. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: God offers us love, joy, hope, and peace! Claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and be blessed.
Embrace God’s presence in Nature. Pastor Liz
