Morning Devotional 111024 A Little Righteousness

Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

  November 10, 2024

Proverbs 16:1-9

1 To people belong the plans of the heart, but the answer of the tongue comes from the LORD. 2 All the ways of people are pure in their eyes, but the LORD tests the motives. 3 Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. 4 The LORD made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for an evil day. 5 The LORD detests all who are arrogant; they surely won’t go unpunished. 6 Love and faithfulness reconcile guilt; the fear of the LORD turns away evil. 7 When people draw favor from the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them. 8 Better a little with righteousness than great profits without justice. 9 People plan their path, but the LORD secures their steps.

Good Morning! Spend time with God today!

God has the blueprint for the master plan which he reveals to us in his time.

I remember more than one occasion when I thought I had the perfect plan, but somewhere along the way, I realized that I hadn’t accounted for some things. When unexpected problems arose, the wheels fell off, and I was unsure how to proceed. There is a fine line between micro-managing and being too laid back.

When leading a group of people, you have many personalities and agendas at play. Some have come out of a desire to help others, while others have come to help themselves. Whatever their motives, this is your group.

Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. 4 The LORD made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for an evil day.

Don’t get distracted by things over which you have no control or things that don’t matter in the grand scheme of purpose. Stay committed to your work and trust God to secure your steps. Keep God as the center of your plan, and all will be blessed.

8 Better a little with righteousness than great profits without justice. 9 People plan their path, but the LORD secures their steps.

Dear Lord, We are your children! You are with us to secure our steps as we walk toward you. Thank you! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: In all things, trust God!

A little righteousness goes a long way! Pastor Liz
