Liz’s Morning Devotional based upon Upper Room

Read 2 Corinthians 9:10-15
10 The one who supplies seed for planting and bread for eating will supply and multiply your seed and will increase your crop, which is righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous in every way. Such generosity produces thanksgiving to God through us. 12 Your ministry of this service to God’s people isn’t only fully meeting their needs but it is also multiplying in many expressions of thanksgiving to God. 13 They will give honor to God for your obedience to your confession of Christ’s gospel. They will do this because this service provides evidence of your obedience, and because of your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone. 14 They will also pray for you, and they will care deeply for you because of the outstanding grace that God has given to you. 15 Thank God for his gift that words can’t describe!
Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart, Give Thanks to the Holy One,
Give Thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son!
Good Morning! Grateful for this beautiful day!
Happy Thanksgiving to each of you! For as long as I can remember, Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday! Of course, I love the special food, but more importantly, I love time with family and friends. The sharing of memories and blessings is so special as we connect to generations past, present, and future. We are blessed that our nation chose to set aside a day of Thanksgiving so many years ago. Each family has traditions that signify that this is Thanksgiving Day. Wherever you are, no matter how hectic your day is, may you take time to thank God for his gift of grace that words can’t describe!
God blesses us unconditionally every day, not just on this one special day! We don’t have to wait to give thanks: gifts that words can’t describe. So how do we say thank you if words when words are insufficient? We show our gratitude by adopting an attitude of thanksgiving for our lives. When you are presented with a need, give generously with gifts of love, mercy, time, clothing, shelter, and even money. Imagine if we could respond with the mindset of the widow who gave all she had when she placed two coins in the offering.
We are about to close out the season of Pentecost as we enter another season of Advent. Seek ways to share God’s gifts of love, mercy, and grace with those in need. For each time your share the gift, the gift will grow and spread to others. How far will your gift of love reach?
Loving God, Thank You for loving us. May we work to start the ripples of love, grace, and mercy that will spread through the world. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
Thought for the day: Today I will show gratitude to God by giving generously.
Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart! Pastor Liz
