Liz’s Morning Devotional: Scripture selected from Upper Room

November 26, 2025

Proverbs 16:1-9

1 To people belong the plans of the heart, but the answer of the tongue comes from the LORD. 2 All the ways of people are pure in their eyes, but the LORD tests the motives. 3 Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. 4 The LORD made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for an evil day. 5 The LORD detests all who are arrogant; they surely won’t go unpunished. 6 Love and faithfulness reconcile guilt; the fear of the LORD turns away evil. 7 When people draw favor from the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them. 8 Better a little with righteousness than great profits without justice. 9 People plan their path, but the LORD secures their steps.

Good Morning! May we celebrate our Lord this day!

On this foggy morning, my vision is hindered, and the sharp edges fade into the cloud. Sometimes photographers use an edge effect to soften the transition into the border or fill color.

The fog reminds me that our path of righteousness is sometimes unclear. God knows and guides our steps as we take each step in faith. When our actions are founded in love and faithfulness, God will bless our efforts.

We are called to take action and serve others. When we follow our hearts and listen to God, we will care for those in need without earthly ideals getting in our way. By God’s grace, we can see clearly through the fog that sometimes clouds our thoughts. Just beyond the fog lies hope, peace, love, and joy.

Lord, you bless us abundantly! May we humble ourselves and trust in your wisdom. Thank you. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

Thought for the day: Allow God to lead when our thoughts are foggy
